Support4Sport funding is managed and distributed through Sport Nova Scotia, a non-profit, non-government organization, representing over 60 provincial sport organizations and more than 120,000 registered sport participants.
NSGC is proud to partner with Sport Nova Scotia to deliver the Support4Sport Program. Applications for Support4Sport funding are available through Sport Nova Scotia. The table below outlines each Funding Program area and useful information for applications processes and funding criteria:
Support4Sport funding is allocated to the following areas:
- Participation programming
- Coach employment
- Athlete assistance
- Canada Games programming
In 2007-08, Support4Sport directly helped fund:
- 138 athletes;
- 19 coaches; and,
- 60 community sport programs
The Support4Sport funding models have been designed by Sport Nova Scotia (SNS), the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic (CSCA), and Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection (NSHPP), with input and feedback provided by the Provincial Sport Organizations.
